Our Mission:
We exist to provide province-wide leadership in the humane treatment of animals, enforcement of relevant legislation, public education and advocacy and to ensure shelter for neglected or abused animals.
We help companion animals and livestock enjoy a high quality of life through our public education and inspection programs. Whether it's teaching residents how to handle pets safely or rescuing cats from neglect, we are dedicated to protecting the creatures who enrich our lives.
Structure Governance of the New Brunswick SPCA is in the hands of a Board of Directors, individuals elected by the general membership at its Annual General Meeting, and appointees of the New Brunswick Provincial Government. The Society maintains a staff of Animal Protection Officers and Inspectors across the Province (all part-time officials), who investigate allegations of cruelty or abuse, cooperate with local law enforcement agencies in animal-related matters, and assist in the enforcement of animal-protection legislation. The Society also employs an Executive Director (part-time), who supervises day-to-day operations, and a Chief Inspector, who is responsible for the Society's animal protection work and for supervision and training of Inspectors and Animal Protection Officers. Our vision is that animals in New Brunswick will be protected from abuse and indifference. We recognize and value the contribution that animals make to greatly enrich human life. We believe that all animals have the right to be treated with respect as living beings.
We will work together to foster an atmosphere of openness, respect, understanding and commitment while always remembering and working toward our vision.
